Strawberries

My adventures in strawberries invading my house, began on saturday with a trip to the local strawberry farm to hand pick our strawberries. Henry loved being able to see where strawberries actually came from, so much so that he ended up eating the strawberries still on the vine without even picking them off.

We came home saturday with 4 flats of strawberries. Today I finally got around to doing something with all the strawberries. I managed to make 18 jars of jelly/jam and freeze 5 qt. jars of strawberries for later. All with two screaming kids around. I still have a huge container in the fridge with fresh ones still to eat. Plans are if they will last til the weekend we are having strawberry cake and strawberry ice cream for Mothers Day - My request.
